TOURISM

“A Re Yeng Bokone Bophirima”, complemented by Rumba in the Jungle will remain the provincial slogans to market North West Province around the globe as a destination of choice, to showcase our rich culture, beautiful sceneries, rich history from our villages and townships and the mountains and valleys. The Provincial tourism strategy shall be anchored amongst others on the following policy issues; ability to compete in the global tourist market, development of new tourism enterprises, growth and expansion of existing enterprises, job creation and provision of efficient government service. In support to the tourism strategy, Rumba in the Jungle makes provision for the following:

• Establishment of Rumba in the Jungle Trade Exhibition;

• Strategy to position North West from position 7th to 3rd as a tourists destination of choice;

• Increase GDP contribution from 4 per cent to 6 per cent by 2030;

• Increase international arrivals from 606 000 to 1.2 million by 2030;

Tourism that will be promoted through indoor and outdoor lifestyle activities will bring a full range of experiences to the visitors – from Gambling, Safari (Game Drive), Water Games, Travel and Destinations to Outdoor Products and Accessories. We have also included a section called “Eco” – the purpose of this area is to educate and enlighten visitors about the effect we have on the environment and to showcase Wildlife and Conservation, and eco-friendly products and services. The Expo will also run exciting competitions to further entice the media and public.

Visitors will be able to find anything from parks (with its BIG FIVE), horse riding and crocodile feed to info on beautiful local destinations, exotic international tours and the most exciting adventure products and activities available. Local Tourism Agencies and authorities, game lodges and a broad variety of other accommodation providers will also benefit.
