The sheer fact that television rights are today sold to many Broadcasters, including Sky in such a fashion and competitive figures encourages our participation and attendance as Broadcasters are not looking merely to offset the fee they pay for the rights, they are seeking big personal profits. Dance is therefore going to be the people’s preferred leisure and competitive activity if it is significantly accessible without a substantial fee as this very much privatises what was originally in the public domain. Participation in dance is encouraged through interaction and the opportunity to witness the dance international idols. However, more and more dance competitions will be sold to non-terrestrial channels. The trend of using Copyright to take dancing further away from the working class public domain origins and towards making it only available for those who either can pay or will despite the financial burden, will pay due to their unique loyalty.

Rumba in the Jungle has today managed to record and create a documentary film titled ‘Rumba in the Jungle – The Return’. The film has already enjoyed participation at the Durban International Film Festival, with SOLD-OUT Ticket Sale at its premier and the rest of the Festival. Today, the Film has started been demanded by the international communities, who have started enquiring about its availability for screening at their different Film Festivals. Austria and Nigeria are such other countries who have already shown interest.

In this year, we are excited to see how the different broadcasters have started showing interest towards Rumba in the Jungle, which is a sign of its better future indeed. Some of the Broadcasters that have shown interests and have worked with the Festival Organisers are: – SABC-Sport, SuperSport, Spice TV and HomeGround.
